This baby fell out of the hole in my pantry wall. I'm guessing it's age at about two weeks.
It was running around lost and hungry. So far it's been 3 full days and it's getting stronger.
Hopefully I can keep it alive till it's able to fly. I have read that 95% of birds found die for one reason or another.
I figure I'll play the odds...5% is better than nothing.
the reason 95% of birds found die is because people do not know what they are doing. I am a wildlife rehabiltator and I have a much higher success rate. This bird is a starling and it is a bird not protected and legal to have, so you could raise it and release it . I suggest you take it to a rehabilitator and if it was a protected bird it would be illegal to raise it. So if you raise it the best thing is to feed him soaked cat chow and meal worms every hour but dont force water into him.

Sweet, thanks so much for the reply...That is basically what I have been doing. I have been using dog food though. I read that online...It was said that it was high in protein.
And I've been feeding every couple of hours. Water...as it wants it. A sterilized eye dropper...one drop at a time when it opens her/his mouth.
Not sure how to tell the sex?
But a big thanks telling me what kind it was...that I had no idea. I will also switch to the food you mentioned today.
