Mt. Mansfield is the highest peak of 4395 feet or 1340m in Vermont.
The top and ridges including Sunset ridge & Maple ridge are above the tree lines and
you have great views during climbing as well as at the summit. At the summit called as "Chin", you have a 360 degree spectacular view, Champlain Valley, Lake Champlain, and Adirondacks in New York State in the West and Stowe resort area and green mountains as well as Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. To the North, Smuggler's Notch, Sterling and Madonna mountains and more. To the South, "Nose" of Mt. Mansfield and Camels Hump and numerous green mountains,
There are many trails to the top, but the easiest and with the best view is the Sunset ridge trail from Underhill State park. It takes a hour and half with strong legs to 2 and half with little kids.
Nice cool breeze and warm sunshine make you happy and peaceful at the top.
