Your accounts is lacking the story of the Chinese pirate invasion of Luzon some time after visit of Fernan Magelhaes. You may revile the Spanish and for good reason but if not for them the whole archipelago would be under the thumb of the Sultan of Brunei or Jolo.

@flipforyou1 Btw, Lt. Artiaga was also posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. Yap's tank company got a citation from the US 8th Army for its gallantry.
After the Filipino troops withdrew (upon the orders of the UN) they were thrown back into battle (less than 24hours) to rescue a British regiment. Too bad it was wiped out by the Chinese units when they got there and retrieved only 18 survivors.

@flipforyou1 yes, it is true. the tank commander, Capt. Conrado Yap was awarded the Philippine medal of honor and the US Distinguished Service Cross. He was killed in action after he went back to retrieve the body of his closest buddy, Lt. Jose Artiaga. Artiaga's platoon was battered so much after it faced off battalions of chinese troops who attacked incessantly since dawn.

That quote from Rizal. "It is a useless life .." You got that from El Filibusterismo. From Simoun's words to Basilio. Mas maganda ung tagalog translation :) sana tagalog na lang
nice video.
Just a suggestion: how about putting up a video tribute to the Filipino soldiers who fought in the Korean War, one of the most notable is the 10th Battalion Combat Team...with just over 900 men stood up against 40,000 Chinese/North korean communist soldiers for more than 3 days. The Filipinos emerged victorious.

I went and checked to see if there is a sizeable amount of media surrounding about PEFTOK. Unfortunately, there isn't much.
But if you can point me to a large reference (preferably having a large gallery of images), I'll be glad to put up a tribute.
