  • Escaping from guard in no-go is really hard, especially when you're being attacked by a champ like Maia. Okami did very well, actually. Surviving 10 minutes against Maia on the mat without getting humiliated itself is an accomplishment.

  • That last second scramble by Okami was awesome. The way he took Demian's back like that was nice, too bad he only had one underhook. Nice defense my Maia.

  • @Blingy98 To illustrate how you commit such a fallacy I will compare your view and his statement. He claimed X was typical of Y. You claimed, in an attempt to reiterate his argument, X's only option is Y. These are two different statements. Only and typical are, obviously, two different words. Just the logician in me speaking up. As they say in bjj the ego stops at the door. I think we can both agree that youtube comments are thrown out at the whim and no biggie. Keep training!

  • @cocotiger77 It is you who has misunderstood. christopherbardsley describes Okami, who does not have a point advantage and tries many times to pass, as: "stalling on top and trying to win on points." How else am I to interpret the argument?

  • Am I the only person who saw Yushin trying to choke out Maia in the last two minutes? How was he stalling?

  • Mia even submitted gabriel gonzaga in a jui jitsu match and gonzagas a former heavyweight world jui jitsu champ and like 40 pounds bigger than mia.

  • There were a good ten times where okami could have passed gaurd to side control but he chose to just ride out top position till the end. Mia was active and going for submissions like triangles and armbars. Plus he controlled okamis posture for most of the time and jui jitsu judges like control more than top position. Thats why mia won. I think that mia actualy won the world jui jitsu championships in 3 different weight classes.

  • if there was striking he'd ground and pound that mya what ever his lame name is ....
