This is one of my all-time favorites from the 60's. A few years ago, I decided to remix & customize the song a little bit, and this is the result. I also ran it through some audio restoration software, because the original song was definitely noisy.

As for the sunrise on the beach, I didn't wanna leave a blank screen, so I used some stock footage that I had.

The majority of the comments in the video are from Joel Whitburn's liner notes contained in Rhino's Billboard Top Pop Hits CD 1963.

  • Were the instruments at 0.45- 0.46 added to this "remix" and absent from the original version?????

  • @Jibjub80... To answer your questions, the organ that's heard at 0:46 (and throughout the rest of the song) is from the original mono version, while most of the rest of the song is the original stereo version. The original stereo version never included the organ. The organ was only heard on the original mono version. Thus, I mixed the two. I also extended the intro and created a completely new ending using both versions of the original song.

  • Wow. This is one of my all-time favorite sixties songs. And thanks for the sound clean-up. Other versions of this song on youtube are of a very poor quality. Great job.

  • Thanks for the kind words. I've always been disappointed at how noisy the mono version is while the stereo version (without the organ) sounds decent. I decided to mix the two and clean it all up, and I'm glad I did. It makes an awesome song that much more fun to listen to.

  • what a haunting song...timeless and magical...and surreal.

  • This has always been one of my favorites from my early teen years. Haunting best describes it for me. So different from all of the other great girl groups of that era.

  • Very nice. I have the original 45 rpm record, and the B side is an instrumental version. I didn't know it was available in stereo. I guess that's because I couldn't afford albums back then. I paid for records with my school lunch and transportation money.

  • Nice work! Classy, haunting, and FUN!

  • Very nice work on the remix. It is a very haunting song and it is very different than any song I've ever heard. It's also always been one of my favorites.

    Thanks for putting this up.

  • @listerone I just asked Lezli. She says that it's no secret. It is a nursery rhyme. :^)

  • @werewolfmanjackal One of the truly great songs of the early 60's.So tell us.....just what *is* Sally's secret????

  • Terrific remix of a classic.

  • @trilogypart3 Dude, I just heard this song for the first time today on an AM station. It kills me. When I

started searching for the song on you tube I thought damn. I know I heard an organ. Yours is the only

one I listened to that had the organ part. Props to you. Good move. I know to trust my ears. Thanks
