Spencer's World Record 468mph Kinetic100DP flight video!!!

On February 2, 2011 Spencer Lisenby flew his own design the Kinetic 100 DP to 468mph setting a new world record at Norco California in winds gusting over 65mph.

Here is a video compilation part of that flight. The radar gunner, Chris Bosley also flew the plane and his flight is included in the second half of the video. Unfortunately in the second portion of the flight the plane is more visible than the world record passes for three reasons. One the plane is flown less aggressively at a much slower rate, 405mph (borrowed plane :o) two, the second pilot is wearing a helmet camera so the camera is naturally following the plane and nobody fly's as well as Spencer. During the record passes the radar gunner was more concerned about getting the speed on radar and not thinking about filming the flight so there's a bit of quick camera movement.

I have a couple of videos that you can see the landing and the flaps work. As soon as you stop DSing the plane will slow down to the hundreds. Then Flaps... The "The incredible ThunderMaster goes 425mph!" on my channel shows a 200"/75lb. plane landing. I catch a “lighter” plane after DSing it in the "NyxAcroSounds@Weldon" video and you can see the flaps work and the landing on the "Take A Dynamic Soaring Ride In The Kinetic" video, (a on-boardDS video)

we use flaps to slow it down just like real airplanes...

Once you have the flight angle perfect, how do you keep the glider tracking right? Is it done with mostly small aileron or rudder adjustments?

There is no rudder and yes very small corrections. Also, most DS planes that go over 250/300mph have different rates for different speeds.

I watched this in 720p on a 22 inch screen and still could barely see the plane. The sound that thing makes is like thunder. Wicked. I'd say the camera/radar guy did a great job flying it too considering it isn't his plane. I'd be trembling too! Congrats on the new speed
