  • @ninjabob42 Agreed, takes more than a guy flailing two sticks around to be called escrima

  • @mrpinoyita That said, saying all arts are equal shows just as much ignorance. All arts have their strengths and weaknesses, and the strengths of some arts might make the practitioners much better at defeating a practitioner of another art.

  • That Kendo practitioner... so graceful and fast. The Eskrima practitioner didn't stand a chance. Numerous shots to the head. I'm Filipino and I am not ashamed to say this, lol.

  • Love them both. In my opinion Kendo, as I've seen in NHK's Samurai Spirit and in NatGeo, shines in speed and "eloquence" (especially with real katanas) while Eskrima, in my "short-lived" experience with my mentor, shines at disarmament and in extremely-close unarmed combat. Hmm... how to merge both?

  • kendo is totally no match

  • not Eskrima nor Kali :(

  • Yeah Good duel. Good cultural exchange.

  • filipino vs jap? what's this world war 2 again? ehehe

  • The kendo guy had alot of opening and opportunities he didn't capitalize on ><

  • The kendo outfit looks so epic :D

  • @copypacercopypacer lol no, one of my very good friends has taken Eskrima ever since he was a young child. He was telling me how most Eskrima that is currently taught is not TRUE Eskrima. The Eskrima that he is taught has been passed down through generations in his family. So what you are saying me appear to be truth to you however you are misinformed, I've seen my friend do a demonstration where he was duel wielding bladed weapons. He spars with live swords and knives weekly. He knows his shit.

  • @Sondrems94 ancient Filipinos used long knives but when the Spanish occupied Philippines they banned the carryig of blades by peasants so they instead used sticks.
