  • screw cars. we need TRAINS not cars.

1,000 people per car. instead of 1.

  • ad356, fuck the taxes, you've no damned idea of the problem.

upper management hired an engineering staff that for years kept the status quo. that is, they didn't give a shit, nor were they challenged to make the changes, upgrades and innovations foreign compeditors were making. those engineers, middle management & their supervisors were concerned with only one damned thing...their pensions!

that's the real & factual truth. taxes on foreign cars is only a damned scapegoat for incompetence!

  • I just like how the government willing threw so much money towards the banks but was tight-fisted when it came to companies that proved america with literally millions of dollars

  • You failed, How does it feel? I guess you got your money and that's all that matters.

  • "the process by which the funding might be forthcoming..." 0:55

what a complete bag of bull$it.

why doesnt this lady day, "hey, are you willing to give back 75% of your salary and your last bonus to save the company?"

no one asks the hard questions.

  • Ad356 is partly right, Most people dont know that China has 100% tax on cars imported from the states. Our cars wont sell there because they are too expensive.

  • I like your enthusiasm. But why punish people when you can REWARD them for good decision-making? Not everyone lives in NYC or LA where there's bus & rail on every corner.

I say let's give tax credits to households and firms who utilize the most green tech. You know what that equals, my friend? More clean energy investment, better energy harvesting, smarter transit designs, and new JOBS to make it all happen. It's a win-win.

  • Number one the Cadillac XLR is not for the average working man as it costs way too much. The new chevy Volt is going to cost 40,000 dollars so how many average working class citizens can afford that. GM is built on Greed and it is finally starting to catch up with them.

  • Ad356, like he said you have idea of the problem. Japan levies *NO tarrif* on American cars, and non-Japanese autos are common there. GM got beat in their own backyard due to logistical incompetence: (1) Pandering to stockholder myopia when they should've streamlined. (2) Falling generations behind JP/EU in hybridization and failing to realize it. (3) Lack of innovation in engine/exhaust tech since OBD2. (4) Over-reliance on ads over smart, long-term management and engineering.

  • the car based society is unsustainable and impossible most people don't give this a thought...because their lazy and selfish

we really need a BIGGER CAR like you said a RAIL CAR!

heres the solution tax the hell out of people that drive cars to pay for public transportation and development.

  • the foreign countries have created a trade imbalance largely due to unfair practices. they protect themselves while we allow them to take us over. i guess being patriotic really is dead isnt it?? i would agree that the labor unions have not helped and some mistakes have been made. its proven that the japanese are no longer "superior"(i dont think they ever were). i cannot complain of GM quality and all my vehicles are older, they run great and are cheap to keep running. tariffs protect jobs!!!
