Overall, I thought he made good sense. And he truly, passionately felt these things! True, he spoke for an hour-and-a-half, and this clip is only a small portion of his speech, but he probably figured this would be his only chance to address the UN, so he had better say everything he needed to right then and there. I just wish the translation was clearer in spots. The lady who took over was easier to understand.

Muammar makes some good points! I had to listen carefully to the English translation more than once to understand everything, but once I did, I could appreciate what he was saying. He's right about the Israeli-Arab conflict poisoning the world. It IS toxic and always has been! It needs to be honorably resolved, once and for all. I agree with his comments about mines being defensive weapons to guard against invasions. Unfortunately, they can kill innocents, and I wish he had addressed that.
