This game was the only one ever made by Takeshi Kitano, Japan's second greatest film director after Kurosawa (mostly because there aren't a lot of great film directors in Japan, unless you count anime directors, which are a whole different thing). You might be familiar with his role as the actor playing Vic Romano in Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC). Both MXC and this game are projects from his earlier days as a successful Japanese shock comedian named Beat Takeshi.
