@mrcss Its how far you can tilt the joystick before the console detects movement, without it you would be aiming all over the place, and not even be touching your joystick

almost seems not as "fair" - would be much easier to stay on target this way

getting used to the deadzone??!
lmao
get this fixed first

just buy a vga cable man. Before i had my HD tv I used the VGA cable to play 360 on my lcd monitor. Then I got my HD tv and it has a VGA also... which looks better than component and HDMI. HDMI is overrated.

Unfortunately, because these newer XFPS models also do not allow for the manipulation of their dead zones, they still may have problems with games using a large dead zone. However, the XFPS can be used alongside an XIM1, which will allow the dead zone and other settings to be edited. also worth mentioning, the XIM2, which features better accuracy than that of the XIM1 without the need for an XFPS, has just recently released.

Most games on the Xbox 360 have a unique dead zone size and the XFPS adapters do not allow for their dead zone size to be manipulated, leading to only a handful of games having a dead zone size that matches that of the XFPS. The first two XFPS models used an overly small dead zone size which would cause small mouse movements in most games to not properly register. The SmartJoy Frag somewhat fixed this issue, but was outdated with the release of the XFPS Sniper 3.0 and XFPS Sniper Plus.

Joystick dead zone is a range of movement along either axis of the joystick where the position of the stick will not translate in to software input. This is so that the joystick does not have to remain perfectly centered to avoid causing movement in game. Because the mouse via all Xbox 360 alternate controller adapters is mapped to the joysticks analog axes, its own input must begin to register at or after the dead zone of the joystick, otherwise small movements will not register in game.
Will a MX510 work with this setup?
