That's exactly where my focus will be once I feel the PM's have topped, and the Real Estate Market has bottomed. The truth does hurt. Glad to see others thinking alike!!

Yep. My wife and I gave up on our 401 long ago. We feel safer being in charge of our future! Rental properties are key, how many people will need a place to live when the banks takes everyone's mortgaged homes?! It's so sad to think this way, but the truth usually hurts. That's why the media lies.

Either buy income property or land (ie, renters)
or save the hoard for my daughters' education. (If the 529 savings plan somehow disappears along with my 401k)

Either way, my 3 kids will thank me later.

I'll never sell my gold silver. THAT IS CRAZY! There will always be ups and downs in the market. You should be buying silver in order to GET OUT OF PAPER!!!!! I buy on the highs and the lows. I'm not gambling, I'm turning paper into what is actually real. Sure I will sell if I need money or to buy another thing of value like land but I WILL NEVER GET BACK into paper...unless they come out with a real gold/silver backed currency.

@thebirdbath Great to hear your thoughts! You will be one of the "fortunate" ones, planning ahead is all it takes...
Thanks again for the comment,

Exactly. My silver is my future. My savings account is in metal. It forces me to save like my grandparents. It gives me something beautiful to look at, and it makes me really need to be in a bad spot to touch my savings.

@MrJoegraphix I'm with you 100% on that one. Most of my savings is metal. I must admit, I have a couple other "things" I'm invested in. Don't want all my eggs in the "metal" basket, but most !! I like your thinking though.. Nice to look at, sell only if u are in bad shape, old school savings method that has proven to work!!
