Ali Afshar & ESX 1st place Win at IRDC Championship in the Worlds Quickest & Fastest Subaru For Sale

Hey everyone,

At the last minute our ESX team decided to take our ESX/STI Subaru race car out of the Subaru of Santa Monica show room and attend the IDRC West Coast Nationals at Auto Club Speedway (formerly known as California Speedway) this past Saturday, June 13th.

We threw on a new "Bullseye" turbocharger and with a skeleton crew of Peter Faust, Jon Cox and myself we set out to use this event to fine tune our car with the new turbocharger. Since it usually takes a couple days of testing, we were expecting to use this event as a "Testing" session only. However, when we arrived the IDRC officials asked us to enter the fastest category of the race, the "Quick" class, even though our car is a "Street" class car and always races in the "True Street" class. We agreed since we were just there to test the car and winning wasn't our primary objective.

Surprisingly we did very well! Not only did we qualify in 1st place, but we ran consistent low 9 second passes, including a 9.0 to win the entire "Quick" class and be the fastest car at the event!
