The Miami Lighthouse for the Blind
James L.Knight Center in Miami,Florida,1999
Lyrics :
I like enchilados and old El Dorados that shine
And old friend the guitar and songs, and women, and wine
They say that I'm livin to fast but I'm feelin' fine (I feel alright)
And I just keep easin' along in 3/4 time
Sometimes I get sideways and stay up all night writin songs
They say it ain't healthy but somehow I keep goin on (I do)
I write what I feel and don't care if the damn thing don't rhyme(that's alright)
Just gimme a 'C' chord and play it in 3/4 time
Chorus:
It's a big old world and we all have to live out our lives
One thing's for sure ain't none of us gonna get out alive(I'm sorry about that)
So while I'm still kickin I'm gonna keep pickin my tunes
I like what I'm doin and I hope it don't end too soon
Cause all my life there's one thing I keep hopin to find
A woman who likes to make love in 3/4 time (be nice ya know)
@56AlexanderLong Welcome aboard. I first saw Ray live when I was 16. That was in 1964 and I have been listening ever since. At age 65 I find he just gets better. The man was a genius.

One thing's for sure, ain't none of us gonna get out alive...
He says: Sorry 'bout that
But he can laugh about it... and so should we.

@56AlexanderLong That don't mean everyone does brother. Try this: Let there be peace and let begin with me. In 3/4 time. Oh, and welcome to the team.

Amen brother! I saw Ray and Traviss Tritt preform this song on CMT several years ago and have been addicted to it ever since. I actually made love to a girl in three four time and smiled to my self while I was doing it. God bless women and GOOD music...whatever the genre!

I love this song; been listenin to it since i was a little kid; im 19 and i just wanna say that im saddened by the fact that many of my peers today no nothing of this and many other classics. Its time to get some more TRUE music lovers in this world; i enjoy listening to everything from classical; to death metal.
