Ozawa is a true artist... a performance is always much more intimate when performed without the score. Mutter is not flashy or glitzy... she just performs how it was supposed to be performed. Great performance. Thanks for posting.

Too slow? The listener must be deaf or nuts, or a bit of both. One of the most endearing qualities about Mutter's unique playing is how she caresses the notes, nothing more lovely than those long held notes, played piano, to which she adds vibrato. It's a very feminine approach. None of the "my balls are bigger than yours" playing that the BIG GUYS indulge in. She just lets the music carry her with it--that incomprable balance between the male and female that makes Ludwig Ludwig. .

Questo è uno dei concerti preferiti, grande esecuzione.

@Garpinator I agree with stickitupyapipe´s post. The piece is far too slow, irrespective of who is at fault. I think what he/she was getting at, is that although it´s slow, Mutter´s technical ability is very evident.

@ytilibalaiava Racist much?

@stickitupyapipe Mutter likes to play most pieces on the slow side. Ozawa doubtless consulted with Mutter as to the tempo SHE desired before the performance (as most conductors will do for a soloist when conducting a concerto).
-
BUT,
CAN SHE PLAY 'BILE THEM CABBAGE DOWN'?
-
@pastrings Sorry, I have to disagree with your opinion regarding Ozawa.. This piece is played far too slowly, almost as if Ozawa is determined to put the audience to sleep. Despite this obvious shortcoming, Mutter still displays her true genius.

haha, word!
--No,this is SD-Video Collections site.
Actually this video was recorded in 1989, so there was no HD specification at that time.In case that people encode video (even original video is low resolution) with "over 720p format", YouTube recognizes it is "HD".
The reason why I encode video file with over 720 format is that I want you to enjoy non deteriorated quality on big screen.Sooner many people will watch YouTube on TV.
