2000 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L V6 193,452 miles

This is my 2000 Dodge Intrepid. It features the infamous 2.7L V6. This engine certainly has a bad reputation, and I have come across one in person with the "2.7 knock", but not mine. She runs as smooth as silk, although the Kodak EasyShare C513 I used to record it has lousy audio, and so it sounds strange when the camera is near the engine itself. When I get a better recorder maybe I'll redo it :P

I love my Intrepid, it's taken me across the country (last year at 179k), handles great, runs great, and looks fantastic. I just wanted to show that not all of the 2.7's are POS.

I have a 1998 and it has 218,055km on it and man I love my car. And yes it is a 2.7 and here in canada lots of people get these car to 350,000km and over. In my home town I know four people with intrepid that have over 320,000km on them. The only thing you must do to keep your engian nice and sexy is to change your oil ever 3,000km or so.

I got a 2005 sebring with a 2.7 and yeah its only got 130,000 kms on it but that sucker is as smooth as it was brand new. These engines are knowing to give out at 80,000 but seriously its all about how its maintained, driven, and the oil. Dont put cheap oil in it for starters and change it when recommended. If you want good reliability use synthetic its expensive but in my opinion worth every penny. My dad has a 2002 intrepid with the 2.7 and its got over 220,000 kms and still runs like a champ.

Mine has been great, 143,000 and running like new. I service mine regularly and drive it hard but I love mine.

Just sold my 2001 sebring with a 2.7 in it with 332,000 kms on it still running like a champ. It's all in the maintenance.

My 2.7L in my trep went at 175,000KMS .... Never will buy a dodge again !
