In this FS100 video, I talk about the Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle and how the FS100 works with it.
Official HyperDeck Shuttle site: tinyurl.com/3u6rf2v
Key points of note:
- A HyperDeck Shuttle Mounting Plate with many 1/4" and 3/8" holes is being released in early December 2011. More details can be found here: tinyurl.com/72z5rne
- Not all SSDs are created equal...use only these recommended SSDs for video capture:
OCZ 240GB Vertex 3
OCZ 480GB Vertex 3
Crucial 256GB C300
Kingston 64GB SSDNow V+
Kingston 128GB SSDNow V+
- The SSD MUST be formatted in HFS+ file format, which is not natively compatible with PCs. For a PC to recognize and format a HFS+ drive, you must purchase either Mediafour's MacDrive 9 (mediafour.com) or Paragon's HFS+ (paragon-software.com)
- The SSD port on the HyperDeck Shuttle has no solid "locking" mechanism which means that it is a possibility that the SSD might be able to drop out of the drive bay while in use. This can be easily fixed with a piece of tape around the opening of the SSD port on the HyperDeck Shuttle.
- To get a proper signal to the HyperDeck Shuttle from the FS100, you must set your HDMI "VIDEO OUT" to 1080i/480i.
- Keep the device firmware up-to-date! Latest firmware is 1.1.2 (uploaded Nov. 23, 2011) - tinyurl.com/74udf9z (windows FW support link)
- File sizes from the FS100 are as follows:
1080p/30p FX @ 1min: 9.5GB
1080p/24p FX @ 1min: 9.4GB
Hi, In this video are you using the fs100 to record the episode?

@yousefraiyes Since I only have one FS100, I used my other camera, the Canon 5D Mark II.

What about power? I don't seem to see an AC-DC plug in the demo, is it battery powered?

@raredreamfootage It has a internal battery which will last about 1-1.5 hours as well as a AC power adapter.
