I just use the same wax/polish i use on the plastics of my motorcycle to remove scratches from my CD/DVD's, works like a charm. (Yes, this even works on the big scratches the older Xbox360's make.)
And best thing yet, my room won't smell like foul banana after a week in summertime. :)
I was dumb enough to try this. It doesn't work. It just makes your ipod sticky, and its hard to get off, I would advise not doing this because you will get banana in you headphone jack, buttons and the charger and its not worth breaking your ipod to fix some scratches
