my 940TD dousn't make such a sound with a straight pipe
a week ago whe had a vw passat at school that made yust the same noise as yours
turbo was blown:)

@740diesel There are no more videos, youtube blocks them because the music. In my web page are the 3 old videos... from the first one to 1½ years later.

@Daalhoffarm2 ;) i think that the boost was approx. 0.7 -1 bar. We had old winter tyres with small spikes. Check my profile for latest and final volvo video.

hello, I am that man who "rebuilt" your volvo
today i had some issues,more specifically overheating problems!
We drove it on a field and the car spilled all his water out.
I hope you can help me with this problem.

@740diesel It sounds like our volvo, the head gasket was bad or the cylinder head is broken. The Previous owner was drilled small holes to the cap of expansion tank, maybe because overheating ;) I change the cap to new one. If it boils water again, you should try some kind of additive for coolant. We used Wondarweld and it helps a little.
