  • IM STILL working my Garrett groundhog, im not a detector snob.dig noise.Gold sounds cool. Thanks for the demo R.I.P. Mr Lynn regards Peter.

  • @LandroverB1 My goodness the last time I used a Groundhog was 30+ years ago, we still carry spare parts for these golden oldies.

  • You swing way to fast. Fast recovery speed has nothing to do with how fast you can swing back and forth. This machine, as well as the E-Trac, is meant to be used slowly. For all those bashing this machine - simply using this dudes video as a means to decide whether to buy it is just plain ridiculous. I have been swinging both and E-Trac and an SE for many years and I have had zero problems finding keepers in beds of iron junk. Learn to use your machine before posting propaganda like this please

  • @MrWarmsie The idea of these videos was to compare like for like with similar swing speeds, you are incorrect in your assumptions, nobody is “bashing this machine” you are obviously a ML fan & have seen something you don’t agree with, just try the same test yourself BUT don’t slow down from your normal detecting sweep speed & you will have a nasty shock, I hope you continue enjoying your machine & have many good finds.

  • @RegtonDetectors This video is a misrepresentation of a great machine. The Explorer SE and the ETrac are not meant to be swept back and forth like a golf club. This is a classic amateur mistake. You have created a bad image for Minelab with your poor use of this metal detector and you should be ashamed of yourself. I hope that people are not stupid enough to use this review as an indication of what this machine is capable of. Your condescending remark about me having a nasty shock is laughable.

  • @MrWarmsie I’m afraid you’re very much mistaken, Norfolk Wolf was also a Minelab user himself & was only too aware of the pro’s & cons of this machine, you have missed the point entirely, this is a like for like comparison at realistic detecting speeds. Maybe a quick read of his book ‘Advanced Detecting’ will help you to understand what is being shown.

  • RIP Norfolk Wolf!

  • Sad to say that John Lynn, the Norfolk Wolf, died today. How many people purchased their first detector because of this mans great advice and knowledge on the subject?

    R.I.P.

  • I like your honesty in the sweep speed at the end. Good Show.

  • Wish I had NEVER sold my explorer XS, I could go right behind people who had swept around a picnic area and pull coins out left and right. Better yet with the right program loaded I could work right around a park bench, where most detectors go freakin' nuts, and dig out coins like it was easy :) ...sigh.. loved that machine :(
