@danielr914 erm... no.... st patrick has nothing to do with the union Jack. I don't see any green. St George (England) St Andrew (Scotland) St David (Wales). All three flags are incorporated into the British Union Jack!
Great Britain = England Scotland Wales.
UK (United Kingdom) = England Scotland Wales + Northern Ireland (NOT republic which is St Patrick)

is,nt the union flag made up from 3 catholic saints, st george, st andrew, and st patrick. i also believe its known only as the union jack when at sea ,when its flying from the ships jack mast. no matter ireland is a beautiful country with some of the kindest people in the world i spent eight of the best years of my life there. god bless ireland, wishing peace to all of you..

@MrTaximan1234 most of ireland was run by britain not just northern ireland there were parts that werent so easy to take and they had bigger fish to fry and basically settled an agreement to take just the top half lol thats about the just of the argument u have lol :)) some of the top half dont agree but they dont matter lol :P lay down your guns young one the NI put up a good fight against use when the 12th was coming up haha

Having never lived under any ominous threat I can only imagine the personal suffering which has ever been the fate of the Irish. First the bloody dogans & the Roman Tzar and the ever present English threat. Erin seems to have freed itself from years of R.C. oppression. WONDERFUL FOR SURE - but what is there to replace the spiritual void? The Irish are like the Jews, they have an irrepressible sense of humour & they can laugh about themselves.
