Our homestead consist of a home we constructed 98% ourselves. We made this camper our home/job trailer. I won't say it was easy to do it yourself, but it was definetely worth the blood, sweat and tears. Not being a slave to the bank was our primary motivator. Many told us that we could not do it ourselves and told us that it would fall down. A little determination and a lot of hard work made it happen.

  • wow! I'm from Malaysia and I also want to possess my own house without making any bank loan! I want to learn how exactly to build a house! a good house, suitable to live and comfortable.

  • @6572820IKN You've got the right attitude. I won't say it was easy to do, but my next home will go a lot better because I know a lot more now from the experience. Good luck and never give up trying.

  • Brilliant. TFS The "I could never do that" crowd are likely either overly concerned with what other people might think or have a compromised sense of self-esteem --notice how similar those things are? Best wishes!

  • @ShePreps2 I truly believe that vitually anyone could tackle a project like this. You only need to have the "can-do" and never give up spirit. I am completely over what others think. Thanks.

  • I really wanted to do what you did so we wouldn't have a mortgage hanging over our heads, but my husband thought it was a horrible idea. So now we have a mortgage. To me, THAT is horrible!

  • @Sherri119 A mortgage is not all bad if it is an affordable one. I couldn't afford the mortgage for the home that my wife wanted so we attacked it from a different angle.

  • @VivianRinSC Thank you very much!

  • Very wise! I hate loans and hate paying rent even more. Just subbed to you and l'm enjoying your vids. :)

  • @ernest302 Man I wish I had known. My wife and I talked about putting an ad out but, a guy who was doing a pool for my brother-in-law inquired about it before we ever got to the ad. You win some, you lose some. My heart goes out to you because we lived in our 5th wheel for 4yr. and 9mo. while we built our home. My sister just recently bought a 5th wheel and asked us if we wanted to go camping with her family and we told her that we had done enough camping out to last us for a while.God Bless.

  • wow if i knew thats all you wanted for it i would have gave you more and dragged it up to the north Ga mountains / i have been living in a 20ft 1973 open road for a year and a half now with no water tank or refrigerator or stove /oven - im living my own survival story
