  • There's a youtube video for a California band who's name I'm trying to remember; it starts with someone sliding into a closet feet first, and the Santa Monica Pier is one of the places in the video, then towards the end of the song the video rewinds and the person is back in the room they began in. Sound familiar to anyone?

  • Wish I was there, we've got 20cm of snow :-(

  • I was in Santa Monica last week, for the first time. I fell in love with the beach and the city and the people...

I live in Switzerland, that's great but I miss Santa Monica a lot and we'll be there soon again!!

No, the job market is really bad here. We are over 10% unemployment and the construction is very slow. People are losing their houses left and right and our homeless community is growing. The Casinos only pay minimum wage and who can really live on that. The houses are cheaper here. I saw a very nice new 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom selling for $79,997. It was in a nice area. That says it all.

  • Don't be sorry....I did it to myself, "being homeless and all" L.A. is a nice place, and I would love to go back, but it's just to expensive there, I mean, a person could make $60,000 a year and still be on welfare...lol. I've never been to Vegas, would like to visit. I would think with all the casinos, bars and hotels, there would be some decent work, plus construction.
