Laminitic pony with severely neglected hooves following first barefoot trim by Strasser Hoofcare Professional. This pony has only the front hooves trimmed and is lame in the hinds but the difference is remarkable. No painkillers have been given. The difference is purely as a result of applying the correct trim giving a ground parallel coffin bone (P3). The owner was delighted with the results. The pony continues to improve without shoes and is regularly trimmed by a strasser hoofcare professional. More video coming soon.

Yes, I do understand. We have a formerly abused donkey here who has "issues" with his hinds and, for now, they have to be "self-trimming". I don't know if you have pea gravel available, but the laminitic ones find it comforting to their feet and body (when lying down). Just keep up the great work. My best to you and the pony! Kathy

Thanks for the encouragement. The pony is now doing really well, and will soon go back to her owner. I have uploaded some new video footage if you would like to view it. Best wishes. Alex

Many thanks. We are now working on the hind feet. Due to previous rough handling trimming the hinds has been something of a hazard but we now have reached an understanding and I only work on them when she is lying down - easier all round!
