... Elvis could never be second to anyone. He was always tops, even now. Kris Krisoferson gave up drugs after doing "A Star Is Born". Wouldn't it be great if Elvis played that part and it had the same effect on him as it did on Kris Krisoferson?

@charlotte946 ... Elvis was a southern gentleman and was taught to respected his elders. He did fire the colonel but the colonel gave him a bill for services that frightened Elvis and his father. They were naive about finances and recanted.

@charlotte946 ... The colonel had some good advice in the early years and certainly was a plus while Elvis was in the Army. But his movie advice was terrible. I recentyly heard that Elvis wanted to sing Dolly Partons song "I Will Always Love You" but the colonel ruined that with his demands. I know Elvis would have been fabulous. As it turned out Whittney Houston sung it in The Bodyguard.

@BarbaraLois the colonel was such an idot on many accounts. what was in the positive at the beginning of elvis's carrier, was all bad and wrong the last 10 years of elvis' life. the colonel did many wrong decisions just for the monay and elvis, god knows why, was not strong enough to stand up to him. it is so sad what has happened to that great entertainer
