  • @HairofSteel555 - With or without gloves the technique works. My trainer refers to it as a Wedge. Pull one arm up over one side of your head & it blocks the punch, glove or no glove. This trainer is simply pointing out it will hit your glove in boxing scenario, where as if he had mentioned without gloves he would have said it will hit your arm ( forearm to be exact ). It all translates just fine. There may be a little more room for punches to slip through but the techniques work just as well.

  • lean up against the wall or ropes and do a few min drills just defending from punches. Gotta build the body and eyes together. Slowly but surely you will begin to see the diff

  • Part of being able to take a punch is arguably genetics. Also, some guys like Ali would purposely let their sparring partners land prodigious punches to the head and body, all the while keeping their hands down and backing up against the ropes defenselessly.
