40 years ago today, one of the most exciting bands took the stage to record a live act so terrific, they had to put it on vinyl. Well, to celebrate, I've made an entire video series dedicated for the anniversary. Hope you enjoy the songs.
PS- I could NOT (unforthunately) include the song 'My Generation' in the series because the song was over 15 minutes long and Youtube did not allow. I'm sorry again and if anyone wants that particular song, feel free to ask! Thanks again.
Track 7: Happy Jack
"The star of the show here is Keith, whose remarkable drum patterns carry not only the beat that explodes on the choruses, but, in a startlingly original fashion, the melody as well. All The Who's 60's Trademarks are present and correct: high harmonies, quirky subject matter, fat bass and drums that suspend belief.
Track 8: I'm a Boy
"I'm a Boy was originally written as part of a longer project called 'Quads'. a Townshend tale set in the future when parents could choose the sex of their children. The family in the story requested four girls and a boy, and this single is the boy's lament at the error. With lyrics quite unlike any pop sound of the period, it tips a hat to the Beach Boys with its high harmonies, but the great counterpoint between guitar and drums is 100% Who.
Man, I've been singing EVERY SINGLE WORD WRONG FOR TWENTY FIVE YEARS!

Thanks for showing the lyrics. Can't believe it's been 40 years. Sounds incredible. The Beach Boy vocals on
"I'm A Boy" is classic.
