"Someone wrote this on a piece of paper and was like, yeah, this is a good idea!"
Someone else should have crossed it out and written: "FAIL"

@Animegrl421 Goodness I really hope he doesn't do any more Narnia films. He didn't appreciate the story or the themes and messages. There was even a quote (commented about in Chronicles of a Narnia Geek #154) where Apted doesn't even seem to like the books! Adamson appreciated the books and tried to make them faithful. I would come in with low expectations at the theater if Apted directed the next movie.

@jedimasterkt29 Definitely agree, though I can't imagine Apted continuing Any films other than documentaries (which are supposedly his best films- if any are). No offense to the guy, but he doesn't understand Narnia at all! Adamson LOVED Narnia, and tried to capture the books through a child's eyes without boring adults or making children out to be stupid.- Adamson finds the right balance to entertain a wide audience.

@Animegrl421 I agree, especially since the next movie, if there was one, would be MN. There is a villain, but it's a slower story line I think. He would probably mess up a lot more. I would be more ok with Apted if he did HHB because it has a lot of action and stuff he might be able to work well with. However, I would prefer Adamson over Apted any day.

@jedimasterkt29 If the director stays the same, I hope they don't have another movie.

@G In an interview with douglas gresham he said Satan was destroying americas household. He's become very radical and I think he's using his own stepfathers books to push christianity. The green smoke is there to scare young kids into christianity. C.S Lewis would have not approved these films in my opinion because he knew how to enchant and delight his readers. He could give children a message without being some bible thumping radical.

as to the whole Ed/WW plot, I was super ticked, but I thought about it and the way I view it is that in a way, he isn't scared of the WW, he's scared of himself. He isn't afraid of her per se, he's afraid of the weakness in himself. I used to do something "bad" and once i realized i needed to stop, i did stop and forgave myself for it, but I still feel some guilt and am afraid of the weakness/ tendency toward that evil in me, however irrational my fear is.

in my opinion, the whole wishing herself away thing actually did kind of make sense. You are who you are, how you act, what makes you smile, and of course, what you look like. If you change even something as small as what you look like, you are essentially "wishing yourself away" because you wouldn't be YOU. Granted the dream takes it very literally, but I thought it was a very nice way of putting it.

When The Silver Chair comes out, we should hit the movies together and yell at the screen every time they do something stupid.
I can't believe that Douglas Gresham approves with this movie! Not one thing that he was disappointed about!

@DaddyWalrusguy: Two and a half years after PC was released, he admitted the kiss was nonsense. So whatever he says right now, don't be so sure he actually does approve.

@GPuddle: In a recent interview, Gresham was asked what he thought Lewis would think of the movie. He dodged the question, and simply said Lewis would be thrilled to see creatures like Aslan and Reepicheep looking so realistic.
