The group has also invented the Matrix coils for treatment of aneurysms and been instrumental in development of Onyx liquid embolic agent for treatment of brain arteriovenous malformations, the MERCI device for treatment of stroke amongst others. The interventional Neuroradiology team is an active member of the UCLA Stroke Center which is one of only seven centers in the United States funded by the National Institute of Health to carry out translational research in the field of stroke treatment.
