And my son's life was saved in the US healthcare system and I didn't go broke, AND my insurance premiums are lower than what Canadians pay in extra taxes.
Although, I love Canada, we don't need the Canadian healthcare system here in the US.

The Canadian system saved my fathers life, and my family didn't go broke from the operation and post op.

What kind of weird propaganda is this? If you have a cold OFCOURSE you have to wait so the guy with the giant tumor in his brain can go first! This is so weird to watch.
Living in the Netherlands has really
spoiled me, I can tell. When I break my leg, I'll get picked up in an ambulance within 10 minutes, get treatment, counseling, medicine and what not untill I'm all better. For free! (well, not free, I pay about an estimated 100 dollars on national health-tax).

its funny how companies are actually a good thing. You get what you pay for.

This reminds me of his special with the school system. They too held lotteries to get people into a better system.

ppl who have money to waste and are impatient - can go to private clinic...

when you are in pain, I don't think it's a waste! LOL!

And I agree - we need reform - like allowing ins co to compete across state lines, move away from employer to individually purchased, TORT reform, etc.

I have an HSA and LOVE it - fixed cost for my employer and I get to choose - the co, my deductible, coverage and co-pays. If I don't use the funds, they accumulate!

Yes, we need reform - NOT govt takeover.

Well said!
I have a Canadian relative who lost her 17 year old daughter to the Canadian healthcare system. It was because of waiting. She would be alive today if she was in the US.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your relative.

This bill is not reform - it's just penalties (taxes) and forcing "everyone" to get HC ins.

This bill moves ppl towards employer based ins - I posit this is what has us where we are today. S/B individuals purchasing/negotiating b/c what happens if you lose your job?!?

Again - w/o real reforms like Tort & allowing ins cos to sell across state lines -
THIS BILL only increases TAXES.

Taking from one BROKE govt plan to start another?? Insane...
