According to recent tests by Oregon OSHA and Oregon Health and Science University, the Brazilian Blowout is NOT formaldehyde-free, as has been claimed. Formaldehyde levels have been found at up to 10.6%. Formaldehyde is a human carginogen. Brazilian Blowout continues to deny the allegations that they've been lying about formaldehyde levels.

  • What about regular keratin treatments like the one Ulta offers?

  • Well, i do this for 2 years, also the amount of the product that actually get in contact with your skin is minimal.otherwise, hollywood is doomed to death, every single woman does it. And well you get fast food every day, you eat junk every day, so cancer is coming from your mouth as well.. do you quit mcdonalds for that? i do not... you can try to avoid many things, but one way or another we have to die. so lets just enjoy the perks of technology.

  • @desireebreeze THANK YOU!~yeah... and we have all these women in the 'related subject' >>>> that went and did.. so happy and loving their hair.. did they bother to read any of this...EDUCATE!!!!!!and educate yourself.. dont go out and slap the latest chem. on yer bods folx! come on...isnt there enough shit out there anyway..on average i use 4 products a day..soap, deod, lotion and occasional makeup.. and im not sure what im doing..??i dunno..dont like it..

  • There is a great new document that was released by OSHA. They tested more brands of Brazilian Keratin treatments for formaldehyde. It is in their Final Hair Smoothing Report on page 24. The rest of the document also has useful information, but I know the table will help me make a decision and I thought it might help others. :) I had been thinking about the QOD one, but now I will look at the others too. Still good to know that a lot of them have way less than the BBO.

  • You need to update you information because you're not stating the truth. PLEASE CONTACT OREGON OSHA FOR A NEW UPDATE

  • @heidiheidi0 Not that I know of.

Japanese Hair Straightening uses Thio solutions (the same ones used for Jehri Curl).

  • well that much formaldehyde on your hair is insane.

Also the people working with it would be breathing way to much

as a gas every day. This is unaccecptable.

  • great job on getting the word out there. Brazilian Blowout is bad news and I wish more salon owners would stop thinking with money signs and realize that stylist are checking them selfs into hospitals with chronic nose bleeds, migraines, and chest colds. it isn't just about protecting our clients. What about the men and women that work in this industry?! We inhale it all day. It's awesome people are finally speaking up.

  • @Praha538 that video is from last year... this one is recent

  • so after claiming all this... I find a video of you getting the BB. ???????? Makes no sense to me.
