If you would like to know more about testing for these kinds of problems, do visit our website at http://www.bustmold.com, then browse over to facebook and give us a "Like"! Remember, it's not MOLD until it's tested!
Odors are a strong indicator of mold problems and of decreased air quality levels. I don't know about you, but I'm very sensitive to odors in my home. As a matter-of-fact, I won't let my wife wear perfume or even use scented body lotions. Some molds and fungi can give off gases known as microbial VOCs. These gases are responsible for the those odors that you would probably identify as "musty", "earthy" or "moldy". Some of the gases have been found to be irritating to humans, and I'm not just talking about the offensive smell - these gases can contribute to what's commonly known as Sick Building Syndrome. These Microbial VOC's can be measured in the air at very low levels, and their presence is an indication of mold contamination. Exposure to these gases may cause symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, fatigue and nausea.
