Famimaga Video Jan. 1990 1/5 (Japanese gaming video)

Famimaga Video was a VHS series for videogame previews put out by the makers of Family Computer Magazine (Famimaga.) The magazine itself was aimed at a condescendingly young readership (think Japanese Nintendo Power), but fortunately this video series is mostly a sober reporting of new game releases and game tips (no reviews, unfortunately.)
Famimaga Video and other gaming preview VHS tapes were rented out at video stores in Japan (and seldom sold) so it's especially difficult to find them in this day and age.

This episode was released around January 1990, and covers games such as Dragon Quest IV, Final Fantasy III, Ankoku Densetsu, Golden Axe, and the Atari Lynx. Its other main story was a panel discussion between the writer of Mother (Shigesato Itoi), the creators of Dragon Quest (Yuji Horii and Kouichi Nakamura), and the writer(?) of "No Life King" (Seikou Itou). The topic is the future of Famicom games, but the discussion is useful only to those who can understand Japanese!

Some cool things to look out for in this episode:

-The Shoshinkai Show report, featuring early previews of Metal Slader Glory, Genjyusouseiki (unreleased), a proto version of Kage (Shadow of the Ninja), and an earlier version of Cosmo Tank.
-A preview of Ankoku Densetsu, featuring a slightly earlier, buggier version of the game.
-The Atari Lynx, with a couple of its prototype games, like Monster Demolition (which became Rampage.)
-A slightly early version of DaiMakaimura for the SuperGrafx.
