On my way back to the United States from Vietnam, I had an 8 hour layover in Tokyo's Narita Airport. Rather than just sitting around, I paid about $50 to take the Narita Express train into central Tokyo to see what I could see. My two goals were to see the big cross walk featured in the film "Lost In Translation" and to eat at a sushi restaurant with a rotating bar.

  • I can see you LOVE that water Douching action. Warm is definitely better than the 1st button you pressed. How much was the drink at Starbucks in Yen compared to the price back in Dallas?

  • @jurmongler Water douching, haha, yes, indeed. I have no idea about the Starbucks price comparison, I think it was about the same.

  • US SIM card cell-phones DO work in Japan if you have 3G on the 2100MHz band. Most smart-phones from AT&T and T-Mobile do. They also have CDMA 1X roaming if you're with Verizon/Sprint. All of this requires roaming enabled on your account (all customer service in US before leaving). Glad you enjoyed Japan! ;-)
