you need to check your passing chords ( Jason Mraz chords) your middle finger should be one string vertical from where you are. you should be fretting the low e string. and if you do decide to continue playing it this thay, you should mute the low e so it doesn't ring and sound off, the song is in the key of b not e. that's why it sound weird with the e note ringing out because it's not supposed to be there, Keep rockin'.
