  • thank you. i had fun watching. cute fairy tale. and love eve arden

  • OTOV inspire the 1980-Xanadu.......believe it OR NOT?

  • @mclaughlin72 Just to show you how bad things can get, they essentially did a remake-the movie "Mannequin". Careful what you wish for.

  • Warwolfii yofu are correct. No one can play the part of Venus better than Ava Gardner. Thank goodness Mayer chose her. Although I think the main reason she got the role was because her divorce from Mickey Rooney was bitter so they gave her better movies. And what better movie to showcase her beauty was done better than to play the 'Goddess of Love' and she was a goddess in her time.

  • @mclaughlin72 I heard "Speak Low" when I saw this movie almost sixty years ago and it is still my favorite song. I was desperately in love with Ava Gardner back then. If they did remake this movie, knowing how Hollywood works today, they'd probably cast Christina Aguilera or Lady Gaga in the role. In my mind no one could play the role but Ava.

  • If they ever do a remake I would love to see it. As for who could take on the role of Venus???? Hmmmm. now tha is a stumper. i just watched the movie 'She's out of my league' and the leading lady 'Alice Eve' would be one gorgeous candidate for the Role as she is just as lovely to watch as Ava Gardner was.

  • When this was released (about 1945), there weren't many films being produced in Technicolor. It sure would have brought out Ava's green eyes, but nonetheless, it still is one of my favorite films, for so many reasons.

  • Dee-lightful! Ava Gardner was a one of a kind beauty! And I like this movie in black and white. It makes it more mysterious. Shadows falling across faces and bodies. Color is something we see everyday! Black and white makes this fantasy more of a fantasy!

  • I like to see a remake of this movie! the problem is who is beautiful enough play Venus in today's Hollywood of Plastic and Fake.

  • Love the movie!! Ava was so wonderful in this!! This was a great movie and made me very happy! Ava as you can see, my username, is one of my all time favorites!!!
