I bought a Princeton 112 from a used musicstore for $100. I am very impressed, with the jangley cleans, with a strat!! Good enough for me. Try using a BBE Sonic Stomp in the effects loop!! Does GREAT things! Especially on the distotion channel! Mine sounds BADASS!! For the money, and being SS, I swear, I like it more than my Mesa triple rectifier. NO SHIT! I can dial the Mesa in, and get GREAT tone, but I LOVE my Princeton's ease of use. Reccomend.

I just played this amp today it has a nice clean sound if you use a strat ( even a cheap one ) on the neck pick up with the reverb cranked all the way ( I put the treble on 7 mid , bass on 5 ) if you crank the gain up and switch to the bridge pick up you get a nice chunky metal/rock sound ( really nice pinch harmonics ) for $300-$350 you can get this amp and a cheap strat and have a good sound ( obviously there's better stuff if you want to spend more but if you're a little tight on cash it's a

I can't agree with you more. I found the BJ harsh sounding. Some SS amps
aren't that bad. I had a Yamaha G100-212 that sounded great, especially
with a strat ( single coils). Love the chops at 2:47 :)

Hi Nigel. i found the same - i used a 112 for 10 years before trying a fender blues deluxe which i bought this year thinking it would deepen my tone for jazz. i like to play a lot of rhythmic chords and arpeggios in my solos, great with the 112, really clean, but with the blues junior its too overpowering. i went back to my 112 tonight (only cos somebody borrowed my bj, and i was really happy to get that sound back! seems im not alone. tone really defines what you can do in music

Hi, I have this amp and experience some pretty loud hissing. Have you noticed the same and if so, any idea what the cause might be?

what do you play at the beginning?

What´s the power?

The Princeton overdriven sounds thin and colourless. No proper harmonics coming through; too much white noise. If the last minute is the BJ, it sounds heaps better, unless there was some tweak done on the P112. I was considering getting a P112, but after this my worst opinions were justified. You simply cannot get tube tone out of solid state, no matter how much you spend on components. You can get an expensive custom-built solid state to come close, but forget stuff that comes out of a factory.

hey friends, when i swich off my amp, just before turn off automatically change to overdrive channel, is that normal?

I wonder how it would sound if a Line 6 POD XT Live were plugged into it??? Because the amp is 65 watts and it has a killer clean tone all by itself, I believe a POD floor unit would be a good gigging device when paired with this amp. Anybody have any idea??
BJ sounds muffled and has flabby bass. Save your money and go for a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue - much more sound dynamic and richer sound.

Have you conducted a side-by-side test?
