One thing about these Active 5 strings videos is nobody ever plays the low b string.
-
if only it came in 24 frets instead of just 20

Can you please play a BASS LINE and not a solo so we can hear how the bass sounds? Also, you make NO use of the low B string, which is the reason it's a 5 string bass. Please re-demo using the B string, playing a groove. Thanks.

This bass is comparable to Fenders. I have a deluxe active IV and I couldn't be more satisfied with it.

Thanks for this vid man! It was really helpful! Def buying this bass! Ill take d sunburst!!!

I own a sunburst version of this. The sound is sweet all on it's own. I believe the ebinol fretboard is part of the reason, along with the massive bridge and thick neck. I love to play funk, and was always disappointed with other 5 strings because the spacing was too narrow. I have small hands and it gives me advantages with narrow spacing, but I like to really wail sometimes and wider helps with that. This is my favorite bass. Squier doesn't mean cheap. just inexpensive :)

Just one thing though....does anyone slap old school style anymore or has the Victor Wooten technique replaced it. It's very impressive but does anyone slap out a spacious groove anymore or is slapping 16th triplets and 64th note percussive ghost notes all the rage

you are definitely right. I'm not a double thump maniac, but I always find myself switched in "victa mode" when I'm demoing a bass. I'll try and shoot some clips where I'm acting as a bassist: thus, hopefully more musical!
