  • Thank you! I suffer from PCS (post concussion syndrome), from a fall on the ice 12/2008. I have been searching for other actual people who have similar injuries, not medical doctors. It is a very frustrating condition and I beleive is helps to relate to others who have experienced the complex changes it makes in your life and you personally. I suffer physical symptoms treated by meds, to personality changes and memory & mental changes which are the most frustrating.

  • Thanks, for sharing your experience. Personally it has been more than two years.... It does get better. It seems like its going to last forever but the energy comes back and the headaches slowly subside. The very best in your recovery.

  • The grocery store is an evil place for someone w/ a concussion!!!! Thank you so much for talking bout something not everyone understands.

  • I went undiagnosed for the last 25 years (my first TBI was in 1986, leaving two scars equaling 92 stitches on by brow & forehead). It was by chance that I read a book talking about TBIs in Jan 2011. My TBIs have not made my life a cake walk by any means. 25 years of suicidal tendencies, bizarre behavior, topsy-turvy emotions, unsupportive family, difficulty maintaining friendships and/or employment. At least now I know and am educating myself regarding TBIs.

  • @daisicooper2 YES! I saw a concert a week or 2 after the concussion and my ears rang for days afterward. (I'm a musician and played and watched tons of concerts and my ears never ring anymore) Ears stopped acting weird on me after a few months. It sucks. I'm 9 months or so into this and my brain is still fried :P Much better and actually functioning a lot more now tho.

  • @LordOctemeus please tell-did your ear ring?I had a week ago a concussion but they let me off because my hematoma didnt grow.but tonight I woke up my ear was ringing and its been ten hour and hasnt stopped. Is that a post symhtome?

  • thank you so much for explaining this, ever since my bike accident when i got a concussion ive been having tunnel vision and i thought the things i were seeing were because of my eyes but the eye doctors said it was because of my concussion so thank you for going into depth on this and explaining it, i also get headaches now from lights and things like that

  • I still have lingering effects from taking a slapshot to the side of the head in hockey. I have headaches almost everyday if i do too much, or if screens are to bright.

  • thanks so much for sharing your story! it's good to hear that there are others who have had similar experiences as me after having a life-changing accident. i can relate to so much of what you went through, and for all of the frustration that i still endure nearly 2 years after being diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, i thank God that it's not worse. keep sharing your road to recovery! you have definitely inspired me :-)

  • Have you finished the documentary? I am 15 mos post-concussion after being severely rear-ended. I continue to see progress slowly but surely. I am limited to 20 min of walking. I never heard of PCS before this accident. I now have PPCS (Prolonged PCS). Am currently under the care of a Neuro. He's not a NeuroPsych Doc. Hope your recovery is complete!?!

  • Since September when I received a concussion by hitting the back of my head on I guess a arm rest not really sure I have had so many weird symptoms and headaches everyday and I would always say its like im not learning anything I take it all in and then its gone and when you were talking about your brain being a filter and all that my jaw dropped and I was like wow thats exactly what is happening,I am going to see a neurologist in February what will they do and say?

  • I received a bad concussion from being assaulted 2.5 months ago. As of now, I have no headaches and vision is again clear (most of the time), but I still have tons of problems concentrating and feel like my brain is in a fog. I also feel very fatigued and depressed/nervous most of the time. It is comforting to know I am not alone and I thank you for making this video.

  • I ran full speed into a metal fence. I had a stage 2 concussion but I believe I have post concussion. I have evry side effect for 3 months. I hate it. When I wirte things for school, they dont make sense, they made sense before... and I have a constant headache. how does it stop?

  • Great video testimony, but in the opening title shot you have the misspelling "Mild Tramic Brain Injury". Just thought I'd bring that to your attention. Take care.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story! I suffered a severe head trauma 2 1/2 years ago. They did an M.R.I. and C.T. but didn't notice anything? I was sent home the next day with a diagnosis of severe neck strain without putting a collar on? The concussion went untreated going on two and a half years now. I suffer from severe chronic pain, anxiety going in to stores, music really bothers me, can't stand crowds severe balance issues along with essential tremors and double vision.

  • Thanks for posting.

I accidentally struck the top of a wood chair top 3 1/2 months ago on a ship, and bled, but didn't pass out. I've had headaches since then, and diziness (mostly gone)

My right ear recently started ringing louder.

    I may recover within six months (?) I can't afford a doctor w/o insurance.

    Hope you recover well.

  • NATURAL REMEDIES FOR CONCUSSION

I am recovering from concussion. My body intuitively told me to drink POMEGRANATE JUICE, which I have been doing and it has been helping. I then read that this has high levels of antioxidants, which aid healing.

Next my body told me to drink ALOE VERA juice. This has also been helping. I have read that aloe vera acts to reduce inflammation.

I believe in natural remedies and would like to share this learning with others.

Good luck to everyone in your recovery!!

  • @steelnpearls are you being sarcastic? with what you said I can infer that you traffic illegal aliens....

  • My injury was told to me to be a Diffused Axonal brain injury

  • I have a moderate to mild brain trauma injury from when an illegal alien hit me from behind as I was driving on a hwy at 60mph. I like you thought I was going insane, and it took me over a yr to finally get to see a TBI specialist here in Dallas, TX. What I need now is a support group to just talk with when I'm having a bad day, and today I'm having a bad day...

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your words of such truth dealing with this type of injury. It has helped me allot.

  • this sucks

i had a mild concussion earlier today my first actually

and it is freaky cuz you think you are going crazy, i basicaly forgot half of what happend today lol

  • I credit my recovery to trying to be mentally active and to learn and relearn. The YouTube videos, the documentary "RECLAIMING YOUR LIFE" were all part of the cognitive retraining suggested by my doctors. I believe it was helpful and the response I have received from around the world has been very gratifying and I hope helpful to others.

  • My father suffers from post concussion syndrome after falling off a ladder at work onto a conrete floor. It has been about 5 years now and although he has improved somewhat he suffers from the same fatigue/dizzieness and headaches that you describe. What i found particuarly interesting about your video was the grocery store overload as my dad reacts in the same way its almost like there is just too much for him to take in.

  • just curious how your doing with your injury. I have felt some improvment but am still fighting the sensory overload everyday

  • thanks for the info I have been takeing klonopin for the last week and so far it has cut my sensory over load doen by 40% AT 1 MG THREE TIMES A DAY SO ITS A START AND I CAN SLEEP FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS
