Retired Edinburgh University anthropology professor Tony Good shares his experience at Scottish Refugee Council's autumn conference on refugee women. He explains that the specific problems that women face are not always recognised. He says that this is because the refugee norm is seen as a male political refugee. He advocates a process of education for all of the officials involved in the asylum process from the UKBA to the immigration judges to give a better view of the full context of the plight of refugee women. www.scottishrefugeecouncil.org.uk
