"Elli and the Astronaut" is a short film about a married couple who struggle to overcome the greatest possible distance that can separate two people. Elli, a beautiful but sad woman, begins to look in unexpected places in search of her absent husband, Jonah, a courageous space explorer whose ship is far beyond the barrier of radio communication. As Elli's obsessive search escalates, she begins to lose touch with the tangible world in favor of a reality she can only share with her lost husband. Throughout the film, Elli and Jonah both attempt to dream themselves into the same world. Yet as the film progresses, the audience begins to understand a darker truth about the nature of Elli and Jonahs shared dreamscape. Are they really joining one another at these spiritual meeting points? Or is one of these characters forcibly inducing these visions in order to cope with their loneliness. Ultimately, "Elli and the Astronaut" allows the viewer to complete the story based upon his or her own beliefs about the power of love and the power of illusions.

Elli and the Astronaut is a short film created by Team Rockstar Productions and produced by Media at Large, LLC. Media at Large is fast becoming a leading producer of original content and a premiere resource for independent filmmakers in New York City. The film was conceived by a group of interns during their summer internship at Media at Large. With access to top-rate video equipment and green screen studio space, Team Rockstar Productions developed their ambitious, emotional tale about an earthbound woman and her husband who is lost in the cosmos. Elli and the Astronaut was adapted from an original 10-page screenplay penned by Alex Camilleri and Mark Denega, who also share directorial duties on the film. Team Rockstar also features the talents of Vincent Genova, director of photography, Indira Tapias, production manager and set photographer, and Mike Almodovar, storyboard artist and production coordinator. Camilleri edited the film and completed its visual effects. He sought the talents of his brother, Chris Camilleri, a NYC-based musician/producer to write an original score for the film. "Elli and the Astronaut" began principal photography in early August and shot on location in New York City and Upstate New York, as well as on set at the Media at Large studio. Shooting wrapped in only 4 days. Team Rockstar Productions are actively promoting their film across the country in a variety of film festivals and competitions.
