@rcecilia41 My Cuban grandmother would also make it with ground plantain chips (chicharitas) but she did make a sofrito and used chicken stock instead of beef.....back in those days I had never heard of cilantro and we never used it....When I was growing up, she would let me grind the chicharitas in the old fashioned meat grinder that clipped to the edge of the table or counter. That is how I also make mine now...

Thanks for subscribing to my channel. I don't post calories because I do not believe in counting calories. Calories are important but I hate to count them.
I use and teach the portion control method. You can find a video on it on my site. I use my hand as a guide to figure out portions and eat the right amount of calories. Juan

I am a subscriber to you channel and line many of your recipes but I never saw this method of making plantain soup before. My mother and grand mother simply added grounded plantain chips to beef broth and reheat it until the soup gets thick and that was all. Sometimes the added a hand full of chips to the soup for garnish and that was all.

@rcecilia41 I am glad you liked the recipe. There are soooo many ways to make this soup. I did some research and tried to stay as close to the traditional but make it a little healthier.
