model enging running

home built glow plug engine has sat in the shed for 5 years, so i thought it was time to video and put it on you tube.
it was designed in my head using the scaled down rover v8 dimensions 1/3 scale the bearings are all bronze, it has a split big end, using 6ba bolts the cam followers are offset, so the camshaft was a real pain to make! i only had ac 6.01 reamer.. so suprise suprise a lot of the diameters are 6.00 mm

You may lose brownie points from the ex spurts for not using your fingers to start it though!!

Have you visited the 'home model engine machinist . c o m' (all one word) you might like it there, lots of people from all over the world who like making metal come to life.... it is a nice place to chat about you hobby interests too... you may find another landy entusiast or two on there... I used to re-manufacture 2.25 and 2.5 petrol and diesel engines :-)
