A movie can be all sorts of things at once. This scene's disturbing/fucked up, sad, emotional, dark, and a little funny. "I jerk off instead" made me giggle, it doesn't mean it's not fucked up, it just means that some people are made to laugh at 9/11 jokes, and some aren't.

@martindabomb you cannot seriously say that there isn't a little touch of black comedy involved in this scene. the words used alone, "fuck" and "jerk off", reveal the intention to releave a little tension from an otherwise horrid scene, by humour. I didn't laugh, though..
