i know some stuff about computers but wanted to know this if you wipe the drive do youneed toreformat of re-install windows cause i have a problem and wanna wip my drive but dont wanna buy windows xp again so ya i would appreciate some help.

Yes, you have to reformat and reinstall. If you have a valid Windows license you can call them and they will activate it up to 5 times IIRC.

Sorry, I don't have access to one. What about just general firewall configuration? It might take me a while, but I can go research a free/open source firewall and walk through a config. Firewalls look pretty much the same once you know the basics. The trick is knowing enough about TCP/IP to know how and what to block.

i have hard drive that has 64 bit win. xp my computer is 32 bit it's password protected and i can't get past the startup. i can't put any xp disk in cause the computer will just restart fail. the whole thing is a mess. how do i just clean the hardrive so i can put xp back on it and start from new

nt password recovery doesnt work for me. does anyone else have a problem with this program? I forgot my password and did everything i was supposed to do. I cleared it out in the disc and when i restart my computer is still asks for a password.
