Lyrics:
Its no walk in the park with no light
I'm impatient and keen and I'm willing to fight,
I need help to carry on
And get through this mess that I'm working on.
Where do I start, do I finish?
Is it easy, is it hard, is it right, is it wrong?
How many questions am I allowed to ask,
Before I fall down and I'm carried along.
I am reading in the dark of this lighted room,
Thinking of my options that will not begin to bloom,
It's getting more complicated, By the minute.
When you're looking outside at that tall grey brick wall,
And a bird catches gaze, falls and stumbles, then squalls,
You can't help but think of those unfortunate lies,
That can bury themselves but will suddenly arise.
How many crows must you count and then stall
Must you think about carefully then lose and so ball?
When lies do arise can you hide them with truth,
Or do they drift, from me to you?
From the press release:
Heathers' are 20 year old twin sisters Ellie and Louise Macnamara. They began writing music together in 2007 and in February 2008 they recorded their debut album 'Here, Not There' while also preparing for their Leaving Certificate. They released the album in May of that year garnering serious praise amongst both fans and media alike.
Following their Leaving Cert, Summer 2008 saw the girls embark on a month long tour of America with US band Ghost Mice. They were invited to support Kimya Dawson of 'The Moldy Peaches' in London the following September before beginning their first year at university. The great reactions to their album led to Heathers' being invited to perform at the Music from Ireland showcase at CMJ festival in New York in October 2008 and at Canadian Music Week in Toronto in March 2009. ?They returned to tour the US in June, 2009 and in early July, played the IMRO New Sounds Stage at Oxegen. They are currently writing material for a new album which they hope to record later in 2010.
On tour around Ireland in June including:
# Whelans, DUBLIN on Thursday June 3rd
# Dolans Warehouse, LIMERICK on Saturday June 5th
# Cyprus Avenue, CORK on Thursday June 24th
Good lord, these girls are so amazingly talented. Their record was easily one of the best things I heard in 2009. Thanks for posting this!
