There is a good deal of conjecture regarding AA. The government claiming that the skills shortage is due to a reluctance of companies to embrace AA, where as those opposed argue that previously disadvantaged groups don't have the needed skill sets to start with. Some actions of the government are contradictory and confusing. I'm sure that when reading theses pieces your conclusions will be based on your ethnic origin :-)

I must note the in spite of the false obituary, Hamilton Naki has been one distinguished example of an individual from a disadvantaged background without any real formal schooling who in his own right had an unparalleled success.
Through resilience of character he proved that given a chance one can still endeavour onto great things.
However it seems that South Africa is overlooking a vast resource, no different from gold, copper, coal or platinum. In the 21th century an economy depended on natural resources is frail and short lived, a luxury we can't afford.
