Endothelial cells (http://www.cellapplications.com/endothelial-cells) line the blood vessels of the entire circulatory system, from the aorta to capillaries, and act as the barrier between circulating blood and the rest of the vessel wall. At the cellular interface, endothelial cells are involved in the processes of angiogenesis, vasculogenesis, vasoregulation, coagulation, fibrinolysis, and blood cell trafficking.

Cell Applications' human endothelial cells include: pulmonary artery endothelial cells, coronary artery endothelial cells, aortic endothelial cells, microvascular endothelial cells, umbilical artery endothelial cells, and umbilical vein endothelial cells. All our endothelial cells are high purity, low passage, rigorously characterized, and performance tested. Endothelial cells are available as either cryovials or as proliferating cells in flasks or multi-well plate formats. For your convenience, cryopreserved endothelial cells are offered as part of user-friendly total kits that include optimized growth media and subculture reagent kits.

Seen here in the video, Human Umblical Vein Endothelial Cells, or HUVEC, are isolated from normal human umbilical vein. They are cryopreserved at the end of primary culture and can be cultured and propagated at least 16 population doublings.
