If you want to be able to criticize Islam intellectually, you should read the Qur'an first.
I am only about 1/8 into it, but have found little to criticize. It seems to be a very tolerant religion and preaches peace and caring for others.
Radicals in Islam, as in all religions, twist the meaning of their books to fit what they want to do, rather than what their books teach.
Your book teaches you to love your enemies, but have you accepted that part fully?

RomanCatholic93: I was raised RC, but have ventured out on my own for the truth. I do not see any one religion as having more value than another. Each is seeking truth in its own way.
I have started to read the Qur'an and find it less offensive than the Bible. It is actually more down to earth, and it does teach peace and tolerance. It also, as far as I know, recognized women as equals.
I do not believe that the few radicals in either the Christian or the Muslim religion represents the main.
