The opening of a dramatic concert in Hambourg Fabrik 1988, in a "hot, crowdy and ugly place".
Twelve years after the historical concert in Montreux where she was at the top.
She is at the bottom : no make-up, no jewels, a poor dress, sweating, exhausted and quite desesperate.
The young german public is cruel of enthusiasm and vulgarity, making noises of bottles, demanding "Ne me quitte pas", applauding before the end of the songs.

This traditional was also recorded in the Sixties and released on 2 LPs (Nina Simone, Upfront UPF-145, Black is the Color, Trip-8021) on a CD (The Tomato Collection) and on a DVD title "Live".

I've corrected the year and little modified my text.
Indeed it exists a former version on DVD, Live in New York 1962, that I've just published.
After her, Jacqui MacShee (a capella, Pentangle, Cruel Sister 1970). Is that all ?

Are you sure the year is 1986? i think it is 6 May 1988 at the Fabrik.

Have you an other information about 1986 or 1988 ? Where is the Fabrik ?
She never recorded this traditionnal (neiher played it elsewher ?).
Less than 800 people to share these emotions !
No success in comparison with my older french concerts of the sixties, Antibes and Paris !!
30 years after the public is not more cultivated.
